Additional Bible references about serving:

We are guided by the principle that
Since Jesus is our Lord and Savior we
Serve
the needs of all and strive to nurture and care for one another

What do we mean when we “strive to nurture”?

Strive:               To make an effort

Nurture:            To feed

                        To train; to educate

                        To help grow or develop

We make an effort to feed, educate, and develop ourselves and one another

in the things of God.

We study and learn about how God is and who God is.

We try to understand as is given by the Holy Spirit and then use that understanding

to help others in their understanding.

Learning about how God is and who God is should be a continuous exercise.

“Pray continuously…”

God is so big that we can never stop learning about Him.

How and in what ways can we “care for one another”?

Traditional caring:                     Provide food

                                                Lend a helping hand

Phone calls and cards on special days

Non-traditional caring:  Prayer

Making yourself available physically and emotionally

                                                Bible study together

Find ways in your own life and daily activities

to be guided by the principle or basic truth that
since Jesus is our Lord and Savior we
Serve

the needs of all and strive to nurture and care for one another

Periodically re-assess your core values and behaviors.
Develop attitudes and habits, like deliberate prayer and Bible study,

to help keep ‘the word of the Lord’ fresh in our thoughts, emotions, and wills (hearts).

ENABLED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT let the GUIDING PRINCIPLES of

PRAYING, ACCEPTING, LISTENING, and SERVING

be available to us as we make decisions,

be with us in the midst of conflicts,

help us sort out which direction to go,

and point us to good decisions and healthy actions.
